Ultrasound devices generally use a frequency that varies between 2 MHz and 4 MHz, depending on the transducer (although it can reach up to 20 MHz, which is the case with dermatological ultrasound). Such ultrasonic waves are emitted through a piezoelectric crystal source that is in contact with the skin and receives the echoes generated to be interpreted by computer graphics.
